2010 Nissan Ellure Concept

Nissan has also brought the Ellure Concept at LA Show. Nissan says the Ellure represents Nissan’s commitment to the sedan segment, but not any particular upcoming model.

It is powered by 2.5-liter supercharged 4-cylinder engine connected to a 25 kW electric motor driving the front wheels through an Xtronic continuously variable transmission.

2010 Nissan Ellure Concept has aerodynamic design, on thanks to an underbody pan, covered 21-inch wheels covered with clear plates, and those sinuous curves. Also, the grille is inspired by a formal samurai coat, or Kamishino, while the rear takes cues from the Torii gates found on Shinto shrines.

Ellure explore subtle ways to reduce or eliminate body openings that can cause drag, such as the solid yet transparent coverings on the wheels and grilles, without impacting the beauty of the vehicle.

In interior of Nissan Ellure Concept use Molten design, houses a floating center console, incorporates lines from the concept’s exterior to help fuse passenger and passer-by experiences. Also, there is a full wraparound treatment from front to back that starts with the dashboard and moves around the “lounge-like” rear seat. Eco-materials are used throughout, too, like chrome-free “eco-tanned” leather on the dash and eco-suede on the front seats (ultra-suede in back, playa).

2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

2011 Nissan Leaf – COTY

You’ve read the Nissan Leaf in Carshowp on the previous post? Good news, the jury of the 2011 European Car of the Year Award (COTY) announced that the Nissan Leaf is the winner, earning a total of 257 points. This is the first time in the 47-year history of the competition that the award goes to an electric vehicle.

2011 Nissan Leaf is a plug-in EV, it powered by 80 kW (107 hp) AC electric motor that’s fed by a Nissan-developed laminated lithium-ion battery. The EV accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.9 seconds and it has a driving range of 175 km (109 mph.

This award recognizes the pioneering zero-emission Nissan LEAF as competitive to conventional cars in terms of safety, performance, spaciousness and handling. It also reflects Nissan’s standing as an innovative and exciting brand with a clear vision of the future of transportation, which we call sustainable mobility. With three other electric vehicles in the pipeline from Nissan – and with the imminent market introduction of four additional electric vehicles from our Alliance partner Renault – Nissan LEAF represents a significant first step toward a zero-emission future.

According to Hakan Matson, President of the Jury that Nissan LEAF is the first EV that can match conventional cars in many respects. While the second position is Alfa Romeo Giulietta with 248 points, the Opel/Vauxhall Meriva took the bronze, with 244 points, the Ford C-MAX/Grand C-MAX 224 points, the Citroën C3/DS3 175 points, theVolvo S60/V60 145 points and the Dacia Duster 132 points.

2012 Nissan Sunny

At the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled an all-new sedan model “Sunny”. The Nissan Sunny was first introduced in China in 2003 and was significant as the first locally built model from the new Dongfeng Nissan partnership.

The all-new Nissan Sunny is expected to appeal to young families in their 30s looking for a medium sized sedan that combines a dynamic upscale design with the space, quality and features associated with the Sunny and Nissan brand. The 2012 model projected class leader in fuel economy.

About performance, Nissan Sunny delivers ease in handling for city driving where there’s frequent acceleration and deceleration, and superior environmental performance as a projected class leader in fuel economy. Support by Nissan 1.5-liter HR15DE engine with dual injectors and a new-generation Xtronic CVT with an auxiliary transmission, both of which are newly introduced in China.

MacPherson struts are used for the front suspension and a torsion beam for the rear suspension, making for sporty and agile driving at low speeds, and steady and stable driving at higher speeds.

2012 Nissan Sunny will go on sale first in China in January 2011 and then progressively across 170 countries worldwide under different vehicle brand names. It is will be produced in Dongfeng Nissan’s Huadu Plant in Guangzhou and will be priced from RMB 82.8K to 112.8K (1.04 million – 1.41million yen).

Nine Models of Nissan for 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon

Nissan, together with Autech Japan and its in-house NISMO performance division, will premiere a total of nine vehicles at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2011 with NAPAC (Japan Car Parts and Aftermarket Promotion Association), to be held from January 14 to 16.

The SUPER GT domestic racing series with a display of a race vehicle, transporter and hospitality cars, along with “pit stop” tire changing demonstrations, Also on display will be the 100% electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF Aero Style Concept and Nissan’s range of standard road cars stylized with the latest genuine aero body kits that complement the vehicles’ pure forms.

NISMO will be presenting its new production race car, the Nissan NISMO GT-R RC, which will be officially announced at the Salon, and the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R racecar that competed in the 2010 SUPER GT series.

While Autech will showcase its expertise in custom cars with three fun, relaxing models, including “Elgrand Rider” concept.

The nine models of Nissan includes:

• Nissan LEAF Aero Style Concept
Equipped with an aero body kit that accentuates Nissan LEAF’s distinctive silhouette and character lines, this concept car expresses an image of futuristic sport EV driving.

• Nissan JUKE Sporty Package (Reference exhibit)
With its dealer-installed option enhancing JUKE’s strong, dynamic feel, this custom car is equipped with exterior accessories designed for the European and North American markets. The car includes chrome parts and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

• Nissan Elgrand Rider Premium Concept (Reference exhibit)
Seeking the ultimate level of “mobility space,”‘ the engine, body and suspension are specifically tuned up for a higher level of driving performance. The genuine leather seats are configured in two rows, accommodating four people, and feature a quilted design. Based on the Elgrand Rider, the Premium Concept also features a cabinet with indirect lightning for the ground below and a cool/warm storage box. The custom exterior items such as a smoke-plated front mask, 19-inch wheels and tires and a front protector accentuate the uniqueness of this car.

• Nissan Serena Rider
Based on Serena, this custom car adopts punchy aeroform coating and an emblematic front grille design, which are features of the Rider Series of custom cars. Black-themed special seat materials and silver carbon-style instrument shift finisher enhance its sportiness.
With the front protector* installed in the display model, its unique styling is emphasized.

• Nissan March Bolero
This March-based model has an elegantly coordinated interior and exterior. For the exterior, the front grille, which has been characteristics of previous generation models, features a plated mesh design, while its interior is highlighted by wine-colored, horizontal-striped seat materials delivering a distinguished atmosphere.

* Special front protector for the Rider series, to be scheduled to go on sale in January, 2011, for Elgrand and Serena.

• Nissan NISMO GT-R RC (Racing Competition)
Based on the iconic Nissan GT-R, which offers the world’s highest level of performance as a road going car, the NISMO GT-R RC was specially developed for circuit driving. It features a slick tire-compatible suspension, lightweight components and special safety equipment and devices – including a welded roll cage that meets the FIA standard, a 120-liter safety fuel tank made by ATL and air jacks. It is able to compete in various production races held around the world. This car will be officially released at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

• Nissan NISMO Version FAIRLADY Z
This model builds on the Fairlady Z’s high level of driving performance with added fun and sporty functionality. Along with engine output that is increased to 261kW(355PS), a higher level of sporty handling is realized through special body and suspension tuning and modification of the power steering characteristics. For the exterior, excellent aerodynamic performance is achieved through use of special body components providing greater downforce and reduced air resistance.

• Nissan Elgrand S-tune
This model is equipped with NISMO S-tune kit for exhilarating driving on the street, and genuine optional parts for enhanced comfort and sportiness.

• Nissan MOTUL AUTECH GT-R
This car, campaigned in the 2010 SUPER GT season took the pole position in Round 5 in Sugo and finished in second place in Round 4 in Sepang and Round 6 in Suzuka.

NISMO will also have a “Kids & Ladies Ride Event,” where participants can experience what it’s like to be inside a racing car, and the “Pitwork Simulation,” where NISMO mechanics will be demonstrating racing tire changes and other techniques.

2010 Nissan Townpod Concept

At the Paris Motor Show, Nissan claims that Townpod EV Concept makes use of the same zero-emission technology found within Nissan LEAF in a tall van-like body with suicide-style rear doors and split trunk doors.

Nissan Townpod Concept features a colorful but Spartan interior. All controls for ancillaries such as climate control and media playback are accessed through two centrally mounted digital screens.
